We’re saluting blue cheese by offering this International Blue Cheese Assortment, containing four of the world's greatest blue cheeses. For creating blue cheese in the first place, we owe thanks to a micro-organism named penicillium roqueforti. This microscopic spore attaches itself to a young cheese and spreads blue deliciousness throughout as the cheese matures.
- Fourme d'Ambert: This French blue is cave-aged for a minimum of two months, made from raw cow's milk and has a tremendous, creamy, full-bodied flavor. (1/2 lb)
- Gorgonzola: a creamy, bold blue cheese crafted by Hook’s Cheese Company, a family-owned creamery in Wisconsin. Their Gorgonzola is aged to perfection, offering a rich, tangy flavor with a smooth, velvety texture and the characteristic blue veining. The robust, earthy notes are balanced with a slight sweetness, making it a standout on cheese boards or as an ingredient in gourmet dishes.(1/2 lb)
- Blue Stilton DOP Cheese: Blue Stilton is one of a handful of British cheeses granted the status of a "protected designation origin" (PDO) by the European Commission. Only cheese produced in the three counties of Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire and made according to a strict code may be called Stilton. (1/2 lb)
- Green Island Blue: This cheese delivers a mellow, buttery blue cheese experience, with delicate veins that create a smooth yet slightly tangy flavor. Crafted in New Zealand, it's an approachable option for blue cheese lovers, ideal for crumbling over salads or enjoying with a drizzle of honey. (1/2 lb)
