One of the San Francisco Bay Area’s most beloved creameries, Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company has been making beautiful cheeses with milk from their own cows since 2000. Their Toma (Italian for “wheel of cheese made by the farmer”) is their most versatile and approachable cheese, semi-firm with a creamy, luscious texture and a waxed rind. They’ve recently started producing three variations on Toma: herb-infused TomaProvence, togarashi-infused TomaRashi, and this one: TomaTruffle, infused with Italian black truffles from Umbria.
TomaTruffle is rich and buttery, and the truffle lends it that mushroomy, earthy, irresistible flavor we know and love. It’s perfect for snacking on its own, but it’s also right at home melted into an omelette or scrambled eggs, on a sandwich, or shaved over warm potato chips.
