Marchand de Rêve literally means Dream Merchant, better known as Sandman, the mythical man who sprinkles magical dust to induce sleep and wonderful dreams. This aptly named tea blend was created with this idea in mind. The perfect drink for afternoons and evenings, the aromas and flavors encourage one to take time out and relax.
The base of Sandman is Rooibos, a premium, herbal tea native to South Africa. The rooibos bush (pron: 'roy-bus') grows only in the Cederberg Mountain range of South Africa. This red tea is believed to aid longevity, and is known as Long Life Tea in Japan. The antioxidants in Rooibos, as well as its mineral content, have a significantly beneficial effect on general health. Drinking Rooibos daily may help fight the free radicals that contribute to chronic diseases such as arteriosclerosis, arthritis, heart disease and cancer.
Relaxing chamomile, fennel, verbena add lovely floral, anise and lemon notes. Fauchon rounds out the flavor with the addition of honey bush tea, also from South Africa. Honeybush is closely related to Rooibos, but tends toward sweeter, honeyed notes.

For perishable orders, we line our shipping boxes with Tempguard - a unique, padded insulator made of 100% pre-consumer recycled paper material. We further control the temperature with recycled kraft paper fill and non-toxic frozen gel packs. In the summer months, we may include dry ice to ensure fresh delivery in very hot weather.
