How We Ship

FreshWave Packaging

Our products are always shipped so they will arrive at your door in optimal condition! We’ve carefully selected packaging options that have minimal impact on the environment without compromising on food safety or quality.

For perishable orders, we line our shipping boxes with Tempguard - a unique, padded insulator made of 100% pre-consumer recycled paper material. We further control the temperature with recycled kraft paper fill and non-toxic frozen gel packs. In the summer months, we may include dry ice to ensure fresh delivery in very hot weather.

Note: Please join our efforts to be mindful of our environment and extend the life-cycle of our packaging, by recycling your shipping box, Tempguard liner, and kraft fill (all 100% curbside recyclable!). Store the gel packs in your freezer and reuse to keep your next picnic or road trip fare cool.

Although you don't see it very often, Hoop Cheese used to be something you could buy in any Southern grocery or general store. It's a cheese that was often sold in the same town it was made in, never traveling too far from its birthplace. This is because it's not aged very long, so it doesn't last forever like a wedge of hard grating cheese. The ‘hoop' refers to the shaping molds used in the cheese making process. In the American Southeast, hoop cheese is considered a hard cheese, although it has a texture similar to a mild cheddar. The mild, slightly salty taste of hoop cheese makes it ideal for flavoring or finishing cooked dishes or just simply snacking.

Stripling's has been a mainstay of Georgia families for the past 45 years. The business began with Hardin's Uncle making and selling pork sausage out of his grandfather's mercantile store. As word spread about his handmade sausages, a proper butcher shop was opened in 1965. Since then, new generations have fallen in love with Stripling's traditional, honest products. Although today they primarily focus on their award winning line of sausage and jerky, they still offer an authentic Hoop cheese, made for them in Wisconsin according to a traditional recipe.
