Marieke Gouda with Truffles takes the award-winning craftsmanship of Marieke’s classic Dutch-style Gouda and elevates it with the luxurious depth of black truffles. Made from raw cow’s milk on the Penterman family farm in Thorp, Wisconsin, this young Gouda is sweet, creamy, and gently nutty, aged on Dutch pine planks for a minimum of 60 days. The inclusion of earthy black truffle pieces and aromatic truffle oil adds a rich, woodsy flavor that lingers beautifully. It melts like a dream, making it as perfect for grilled cheese or pasta as it is for serving on a cheese board alongside cured meats and fruit spreads. Try pairing it with a tart cherry spread or fig jam to accentuate its earthy sweetness.
Marieke Gouda was founded by Dutch-born cheesemaker Marieke Penterman and her husband, Rolf, who brought traditional Dutch techniques to their Wisconsin dairy. Using cultures, herbs, and equipment imported from the Netherlands, Marieke crafts Gouda in the true Old World style, with milk sourced directly from their own free-roaming cows just across the street. Since its founding, the creamery has become one of America’s most decorated artisan cheesemakers, earning numerous national and international awards. Marieke herself became the first woman to win Wisconsin’s Outstanding Young Farmer Award in 2015—a testament to her dedication to quality, sustainability, and innovation.
