A real crowd pleaser, The Smokin' Goat is a lightly smoked, semi-soft Spanish goat's milk cheese from the Canary Islands. This cheese is aged for 15 days and naturally smoked over beech wood a week after production. Balanced smoke brings out the toasted notes in the goat’s milk.
Based on the island of Fuerteventura, Grupo Ganaderos de Fuerteventura is a family-run dairy that aims to protect the strong cheesemaking tradition of the region. They work primarily with Majorero goat’s milk from local farmers. The Smokin’ Goat™ is made with this milk, which is naturally high in fat and protein, giving the cheese a creamy, elastic texture. The rind pattern evokes the palm leaves that were historically used as molds during production.
Versatile in the kitchen, it can be used in sandwiches, pasta, and omelets. Or serve with sliced salchichón and Spanish sidra (hard cider).
