Toma (in Italian, toma means "cheese made by the farmer himself”) has a creamy, buttery flavor with a grassy tang on the finish. Point Reyes’s California version of Toma is an all natural, pasteurized, semi-hard, table cheese with a natural rind. Rich and buttery, the master cheesemakers at Point Reyes have added Shichimi Togarashi to create a fascinating nutty, umami flavor with a slight touch of heat and citrus. The result is a fun, full flavored cheese with Japanese spices such as chili flakes, nigella, chili powder, orange peel, ginger powder and nori sprinkled generously throughout the cheese. The combination of a traditional farmhouse cheese with spicy seasoning creates a delightful fusion of flavors from both the Western and Japanese culinary traditions.
Enjoy with rice crackers or with slices of nori. This cheese melts well too, so try adding a kick to omelettes, gratins or Mac ’n’ cheese. Perfect with a G&T!
• Made from pasteurized, rBST-free cows’ milk
• Made with microbial (vegetarian) rennet

What’s the best way to store my cheese?
The best way to keep cheese fresh is to store it in the vegetable crisper in your fridge. Before doing so, wrap in parchment or wax paper, then wrap loosely in plastic wrap. You can also buy our exclusive cheese storage bags, specially created to keep your cheese fresher, longer.
Unless used for cooking, we don’t recommend storing cheese in the freezer as this will alter its texture.
What is the best temperature to serve my cheese?
Remove cheese from the fridge an hour before serving, as cheese is best experienced at room temperature to enjoy the full spectrum of flavors.
How long will my cheese stay fresh in the refrigerator?
The length of time cheeses last in the fridge after opening depends largely on the type of cheese. Soft varieties tend to spoil more quickly than hard varieties. Please refer to the table below for a convenient reference:

How We Ship
FreshWave Packaging
Our products are always shipped so they will arrive at your door in optimal condition! We’ve carefully selected packaging options that have minimal impact on the environment without compromising on food safety or quality.
For perishable orders, we line our shipping boxes with Tempguard - a unique, padded insulator made of 100% pre-consumer recycled paper material. We further control the temperature with recycled kraft paper fill and non-toxic frozen gel packs. In the summer months, we may include dry ice to ensure fresh delivery in very hot weather.
Note: Please join our efforts to be mindful of our environment and extend the life-cycle of our packaging, by recycling your shipping box, Tempguard liner, and kraft fill (all 100% curbside recyclable!). Store the gel packs in your freezer and reuse to keep your next picnic or road trip fare cool.
