Gold by name, color and it's prized ingredients! The Saffron d’Aquila DOP gives it it's stunning golden color. Taking it up another notch, this cheese is sprinkled with "black diamonds" or black truffles to create this rare Italian cheese. Lovingly made by Sergio Moro of Moro Latteria di Moro Sergio in Oderzo in the province of Treviso, Veneto in northern Italy. His whole cow's milk comes from the local cooperative dairy that his family has been a member of for over 50 years. Matured for 90 days, the result is a smooth and aromatic semi-soft cheese with the flavors mingling sublimely in your mouth. While this cheese can be grated over pasta or risotto (it melts well), we love it simply on its own or with artisan bread. A cheese fit for a king.
