How We Ship

FreshWave Packaging

Our products are always shipped so they will arrive at your door in optimal condition! We’ve carefully selected packaging options that have minimal impact on the environment without compromising on food safety or quality.

For perishable orders, we line our shipping boxes with Tempguard - a unique, padded insulator made of 100% pre-consumer recycled paper material. We further control the temperature with recycled kraft paper fill and non-toxic frozen gel packs. In the summer months, we may include dry ice to ensure fresh delivery in very hot weather.

Note: Please join our efforts to be mindful of our environment and extend the life-cycle of our packaging, by recycling your shipping box, Tempguard liner, and kraft fill (all 100% curbside recyclable!). Store the gel packs in your freezer and reuse to keep your next picnic or road trip fare cool.

Gorgonzola dolce, which translates to “sweet Gorgonzola,” is the most mild and approachable variety of Italy’s most iconic cow’s milk blue cheese. This Gorgonzola is produced by the Leonardi family in the town of Cameri in the hilly Italian region of Piemonte, and unlike its sharper counterpart – Gorgonzola Piccante – it has a gentle, slightly sweet, and milky flavor with just a hint of tang. The texture is ultra-creamy, almost spreadable, with delicate blue veining that lends a subtle earthiness without overpowering the palate. It pairs very well with honey; serve it on a cheese board alongside pears, figs, and walnuts. It also adds complexity to risotto and pasta dishes.

Since its founding in 1935 by Natale Leonardi, Leonardi IGOR has become one of Italy’s most renowned producers of the highest-quality PDO Gorgonzola. Even though their facility is ultra-modern, their techniques have been passed down over four generations of the Leonardi family, with recipes unchanged for over 80 years.

  • Pairings: Light dessert wines like Moscato, balanced white like Chardonnay
Ingredients: Pasteurized cow's milk, salt, rennet, green/blue mold.
