Central Coast Creamery’s Ewenique is indeed certainly unique – It’s made with 100 percent California sheep’s milk in the style of a gouda. It’s semi-firm with an elastic and slightly crumbly texture and a starchy aroma that’s actually reminiscent of pizza. As for the flavor, it starts with fresh cream but gives way to warm vanilla, starchy pasta, and spice tea. When serving, pull off chunks instead of slicing in order to reveal its natural jagged curd structure, and serve alongside apples, cherries, Marcona almonds, walnuts, prosciutto, honey, and quince paste.
Since 2012, Central Coast Creamery has been crafting premium cheeses in Paso Robles, California, a region known for its long-standing dairy tradition. Founded by industry veteran Reggie Jones and his wife Kellie, this family-run creamery works with cow, sheep, and goat milk to create a diverse range of cheeses.
