Cremont is an aged cheese from Vermont Creamery made of a blend of goat's milk, cow's milk and fresh Vermont cream. Its name is a combination of "Cream" and "Vermont". This "double cream" variety is a true celebration of Vermont's terroir. An American original crafted in the bucolic Green Mountains of Vermont, Cremont starts on the tongue with flavors of roasted nuts and finishes with a lingering creaminess. Its wrinkled geotrichum rind is edible and delicious as well.
A special cocktail of yeast and mold are added during the cheesemaking process to coagulate the milk overnight, giving Cremont a unique flavor. The fresh curd is shaped by hand and then aged for two weeks to develop a cream-colored rind that conceals a luxurious, smooth interior. Enjoy Cremont slathered on crunchy bread with fig jam, or share some with friends as part of a cheeseboard.
