This Scandinavian favorite is hand-crafted in the rolling hills of south-central Wisconsin in the heart of cheese country. This heavenly baked cheese is loaded with real Jones Farm bacon crumbles and is made from fresh cream from Wisconsin milk.
Brought to Wisconsin by Scandinavian settlers, bread cheese (also known by its Finnish name, Juustoleipa), was originally made from reindeer milk in northern Sweden and Finland. This cow's milk cheese is unusual in that it is baked during the cheesemaking process. The heat from baking caramelizes the sugars on the outside of the cheese to form a tasty crust similar to brown bread.
Sear in a pan or toss on the grill, The Big Moo cooks up crispy on the outside, warm and oh-so incredible on the inside. We love it served with maple syrup or lingonberry jam.
