Yellowfin Tuna (Thunnus Albacares) is a migratory species that can be found in the Tropical and Equatorial seas. Due to its abundance, it is the most commonly used fish in preserves. Yellowfin tuna closely resembles White Tuna (Albacore), but it has a slight yellow hue.
At Serrats, they carefully select the finest fish and employ meticulous cooking techniques. With their skilled and experienced craftsmen, who have perfected their craft over five generations, they ensure that the Yellowfin Tuna is prepared and packaged to perfection.
Serrat's glass jars are thoughtfully packed with Yellowfin Tuna loins, which are delicately covered in specially selected olive oil. This olive oil, known for its intense flavor, imparts a distinctive and exclusive aroma and taste to the Yellowfin Tuna.
Back in 1890, José Serrats established his company in Bermeo, driven by his passion to preserve and transport the delightful flavors of the Bay of Biscay. Leveraging the expertise gained from leading preserve companies in France, he introduced the latest techniques of that time. Thanks to the exceptional quality of the fish and these innovative methods, Serrats products quickly gained popularity in various European markets.
