How We Ship

FreshWave Packaging

Our products are always shipped so they will arrive at your door in optimal condition! We’ve carefully selected packaging options that have minimal impact on the environment without compromising on food safety or quality.

For perishable orders, we line our shipping boxes with Tempguard - a unique, padded insulator made of 100% pre-consumer recycled paper material. We further control the temperature with recycled kraft paper fill and non-toxic frozen gel packs. In the summer months, we may include dry ice to ensure fresh delivery in very hot weather.

Note: Please join our efforts to be mindful of our environment and extend the life-cycle of our packaging, by recycling your shipping box, Tempguard liner, and kraft fill (all 100% curbside recyclable!). Store the gel packs in your freezer and reuse to keep your next picnic or road trip fare cool.

Queso de Valdeón is a bold Spanish blue cheese from the Picos de Europa mountains in northern Spain, a region known for its dramatic landscape and rich cheesemaking traditions. Made from a blend of cow’s and goat’s milk, this cheese is traditionally wrapped in sycamore or chestnut leaves, which help create its signature appearance and contribute subtle earthy notes.

The paste is creamy yet crumbly with striking blue veining throughout. On the palate, Valdeón delivers a robust, tangy flavor with pronounced blue cheese intensity balanced by a smooth, buttery finish. Its complexity includes savory, slightly spicy notes and a lingering richness that makes it one of Spain’s most distinctive blue cheeses.

Protected by PGI status, Queso de Valdeón reflects the heritage and rugged terroir of its mountain origin. It stands out on cheese boards and also melts beautifully into sauces, offering depth and character to a wide range of dishes.

  • Pairings: Rioja Reserva, Ribera del Duero, Pedro Ximénez sherry, Vintage Port, or a bold Spanish Tempranillo.
