This quince jelly isn't quite as dense and thick as quince paste, making it perfect when you want something a bit softer to spread on bread or pair with cheese. If you're unfamiliar, Quince is a yellow-skinned fruit that looks like a cross between an apple and a pear. The hard, yellowish-white flesh is quite dry and has an astringent, tart flavor. Its texture and flavor make it unbelievably tasty when cooked with sugar, and because of its high pectin content it's particularly popular for use in jellies.

Da Morgada delicately flavored jelly is made using aromatic ripe quince and is prepared with a traditional recipe from Odivelas Monastery, dating to the 1800s. The result is an amber, delicate flavored, delicious and fragrant jelly. Very fine, aromatic, creamy and with a delicate amber color. Quince jelly is great on hot crumpets and toast and it can be used to make very tasty puddings. Portuguese Quince Jelly is well known in Europe as an accompaniment for roast pork or dry cured ham. Pair with Serpa, Amarelo, or Serra da Estrella cheese as an outstanding dessert course. Portuguese Quince Jelly by Da Morgada is also perfect with bread and fresh creamy cheeses, making an elegant hors d'oeuvre to serve with wine.

INGREDIENTS: Quince Juice, Sugar and Lemon.
