How We Ship

FreshWave Packaging

Our products are always shipped so they will arrive at your door in optimal condition! We’ve carefully selected packaging options that have minimal impact on the environment without compromising on food safety or quality.

For perishable orders, we line our shipping boxes with Tempguard - a unique, padded insulator made of 100% pre-consumer recycled paper material. We further control the temperature with recycled kraft paper fill and non-toxic frozen gel packs. In the summer months, we may include dry ice to ensure fresh delivery in very hot weather.

Note: Please join our efforts to be mindful of our environment and extend the life-cycle of our packaging, by recycling your shipping box, Tempguard liner, and kraft fill (all 100% curbside recyclable!). Store the gel packs in your freezer and reuse to keep your next picnic or road trip fare cool.

Schmalz’s Kielbasa Sausage is a traditional Eastern European-style smoked sausage crafted with a blend of pork and beef and seasoned with garlic and spices for a bold, savory flavor. Naturally smoked over hardwoods, it develops a rich aroma and depth that defines classic kielbasa.

The texture is firm and juicy, with a satisfying snap and a balanced profile that highlights smoky notes alongside a distinct but not overpowering garlic character. Fully cooked and ready to enjoy, it can be sliced and served as-is, or warmed and incorporated into a variety of dishes.

Schmalz’s roots trace back to Bavaria, where founder Otto learned the butcher’s craft before immigrating to the United States in 1956. After years of honing his skills, he opened his first shop in New Jersey in 1972, building a reputation for authentic, high-quality meats. Today, the family-run business continues that tradition from its USDA-certified facility, producing sausages that reflect decades of craftsmanship and heritage.
