Spoon preserves, more like a traditional jam, are soft with lots of great texture. Super fruit forward, these are made using classic French techniques, including a long soak to draw out the most from the fruit's juices. They are equally at home on toast, dessert, cheese, or straight from the spoon (the way preserves were originally enjoyed - unadorned - all eyes on the fruit in the middle of a snowy winter).
Ingredients: Italian plums, organic cane sugar, organic lemon juice, anise hyssop.
Based on Orcas Island in the San Juan Islands of Washington State, Girl Meets Dirt specialize in single-varietal preserves & shrubs made from heritage rainshadow orchard fruit. Grown by small family farmers & homesteaders– many varietals come from trees that have been producing for over 100 years, on the remaining tracts of a once thriving orchard industry.
