Walkers was started over a century ago in 1898, when Joseph Walker opened a bakery with a loan of £50 and a great ambition. He dedicated himself to making the best shortbreads and pastries in the world. A family business, Walkers has been passed down from Joseph to his sons, and then to his grandsons and so on. Though their facilities have been updated and expanded with the times, Joseph Walker's descendants have stayed true to his ideals and his original recipes. Here we have a traditional Scottish delicacy revived. Deep cups of buttery shortbread pastry filled with a luscious confection of juicy vine fruits and almonds. They are simply lovely warmed and served with cream. Perfect with tea, coffee - or a wee spot of sherry too!
