Veruca Chocolates and all of its boutique chocolate confections are the brainchild of Heather Johnston, a pediatrician-turned-chocolatier. A survivor of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, Heather was inspired to practice medicine by her amazing team of physicians and specialists. She became a pediatrician hoping to reciprocate the compassion and care that she received. Years later, during a break from pediatrics, Heather discovered an entirely different way to provide comfort through a chocolatier course at Chicago’s French Pastry School. Heather fell in love with chocolate work, and gradually her new hobby became a passion, then an obsession, and Veruca Chocolates was born.
Veruca Chocolates are made for chocolate lovers with discriminating taste and an eye for beauty. Each piece is handmade from only the finest ingredients, and hand-finished to entice the eye as well as the palate. All of their products are made by hand at their chocolate workshop in Chicago, Illinois and are certified Kosher by the Chicago Rabbinical Council*.

How We Ship
Perishable foods are optimally packed and temperature controlled with kraft void fill and non-toxic refrigerant gel packs. To further contain temperature escalation, we fill any empty space with specialized foam to minimize air circulation.
