Prissy's of Vidalia's Mild Chow Chow is created from select garden fresh cabbage, sweet red peppers and onions. It is then combined with vinegar, spices, and a touch of paprika for a unique taste.

No one is quite sure where this Southern staple came from...Some say it originated with Chinese rail workers in the 1800s, while others believe it evolved from Indian chutney or from British piccalilli, and still others believe it was passed from Canadians settling in Louisiana. Wherever it came from originally, this classic pickled relish from Prissy's of Vidalia is traditionally served with black eyed peas or collard greens. Prissy's chow chow is also the perfect condiment on hot dogs, hamburgers and a crunchy addition to salads.
