This is a Groningen product, a brand known all over the world. The years of hard work have gained Marne Groninger Mustard global recognition and the famous original mustard. It is widely understood that Groningen stands for craftsmanship!

The distinguishing feature of Groninger mustard species is that the mustard seeds are ground coarsely. This ensures that the mustard looks lovely and is full of flavor. Groninger Mustard is exceptional with red meat, fish and cheese.

Marne has a rich history. It began over a century ago in Kloosterburen where three guys decided to give the local economy a boost by the creation of a mustard factory. Besides employment, the plant also caused a sales channel for mustard seed from regional farmers. The small mustard plant quickly succeeded in its purpose, but not only in Kloosterburen. Also known in the distant surroundings was the mustard for its quality and affordable price. This resulted in growth and in 1926 it was decided to move the factory to Groningen. Because of the new logistics capabilities the company grew steadily in subsequent decades. In no time, Marne mustard was known and enjoyed all over the Netherlands and neighboring countries.

For perishable orders, we line our shipping boxes with Tempguard - a unique, padded insulator made of 100% pre-consumer recycled paper material. We further control the temperature with recycled kraft paper fill and non-toxic frozen gel packs. In the summer months, we may include dry ice to ensure fresh delivery in very hot weather.

Note: Please join our efforts to be mindful of our environment and extend the life-cycle of our packaging, by recycling your shipping box, Tempguard liner, and kraft fill (all 100% curbside recyclable!). Store the gel packs in your freezer and reuse to keep your next picnic or road trip fare cool.
