Originally made using milk from Gloucester cattle, today it's produced with pasteurized cow’s milk, using a full-fat blend that gives it a smooth, creamy texture and deep, golden hue. The name “Double” refers to the use of milk from both the morning and evening milkings, which gives it added depth and richness.

The addition of real onion and chives is the key here, bringing a zesty herbaceous brightness and a light sweetness into the mix, which blends wonderfully to the cheese’s naturally buttery base.
