Douwe Egberts is one of the world's best known coffee brands. Douwe Egberts (a Dutch man's name pronounced DOW-uh EK-bertz) began selling coffee in a small coffee, tea and tobacco shop in the Nethlerlands in 1753. His son, also named Douwe Egberts, who would be the namesake of the international brand, began to sell the family's coffee to other shops and grew their business throughout the Netherlands. By the early 1900s Douwe Egberts built their first coffee roasting plant, and soon the brand spread internationally. By 1960, Douwe Egberts would contribute to more than half of all Dutch coffee exports. In 1978, Douwe Egberts aligned with Sara Lee to become one of the largest coffee producers in the world.

Douwe Egberts distinct flavor profile is created by using only the best coffee beans. Available in many varieties, including Dark Roast Ground Drip, Medium Roast Ground Drip, Decaffeinated Ground Drip and Instant, Douwe Egberts Coffee has a heady power and offers unparalleled richness.
